Get In Loser We're Going Swimming | Baywatch Entry

My entry for Winzer's Baywatch Swimsuit Competition^^

August was the last month of the summer, and Prince was aching to go out to the ocean just once more. Despite hating how the sand always clung to his manes like magnets, he loved the feeling of the cool water flowing between his hooves, and the wild sea-side breeze whirling around him. On the 23rd of August, the colt trotted swiftly to pay a visit to Pebbles. Pebbles was a spotted filly he had gotten to know over the summer. She was the closest friend he had, and was always up for an adventure. They were partners in mischief, two peas in a pod.

Upon greeting his friend, Prince shared his wishes with Pebbles, and she was immediately filled with anticipation. Together, they changed into their appropriate swimsuits. Pebbles tied her manes up with neon green rubber bands, not wanting them to tangle in her horns. She slipped on a necklace strung with sand dollars, in hopes to buy some ice-cream on the way. Wrapping a pool float around her waist and popping on a pair of shades, she was all set to go. Prince, on the other hand, simply slipped into a pair of shorts (which Pebbles made fun of by calling them “douche-bag shorts”). The colt had also teased Pebbles by saying her hairdo made her look like a cactus. They exchanged stories and banter as they made their way onto the path to the beach, not neglecting to buy a few treats to nibble on.

Being young and curious, the foals strayed from the path quite a bit, and quite often too. They’d met a pair of fawns called Dee and Dah. Pebbles invited them to come along on their journey. While the four youngsters made their way, several hares had tagged along as well. Soon enough, a mini conga line of animals formed behind Pebbles and Prince, whom were happy to lead the way.

Not much later, the two foals were trotting side by side out of the woods and towards the coast; each in their swimming gear followed by a dozen other animals, which probably looked rather silly to onlookers but they couldn’t care less. Chatter flowed naturally through the group. As they reached the coast, Prince had discovered an abandoned umbrella, washed up upon the sore. Pebbles approached, and noticed a name tag with the name “Crawb” written on it. She suggested that, since it had washed up on the beach, Crawb surely didn’t want it anymore. So with that thought in mind, Prince carried it in his mouth. He had hoped that it would provide a nice shade when the sun became too bright.

A few more minutes of walking brought the pack to an area where the sand was fluffy and the water was cool. Setting the umbrella into the sand, Prince and Pebbles galloped into the water, the animals followed swiftly, glad to be relieved from the summer’s heat. They all stayed there until sundown, feeling the bliss of the ocean.
